» Village Development Committees (VDCs):

WAGE has established VDCs with 10 members in each village to foster relationships and address community issues. The VDCs empower villagers to identify and solve their problems, with a particular focus on ensuring they benefit from WAGE’s programs.

» Domestic Violence Prevention:

As a women-headed organization, WAGE actively works to prevent violence against women by training community organizers on the Domestic Violence Act and Women’s Rights. Collaboration with government departments has helped WAGE address domestic violence cases in targeted areas.

» COVID-19 Response:

WAGE played a crucial role in supporting communities during the COVID-19 pandemic through several initiatives:Distribution of 12,000 face masks in East Godavari District, with support from local government officials and volunteers.Food distribution to 1,000 homeless individuals during the lockdown.Provision of vegetables to rural families in need.

» Bridge School Program:

WAGE has also focused on education through its Bridge School Program, which aims to reintegrate 50 children from marginalized families in Kotapadu village back into formal education. These children, who were previously involved in child labor, now receive basic education and support. Community Celebrations: During Christmas 2019, WAGE celebrated by distributing blankets and books to children in need, spreading the joy of the holiday season and emphasizing the spirit of sharing and caring. Parent Awareness Programs: WAGE also conducts awareness programs on home-based therapy and disability rights, offering physiotherapy support for individuals recovering from birth disabilities, chronic pain, and mobility issues. The Road Ahead: WAGE continues its mission to serve the vulnerable, with initiatives focusing on education, livelihood development, and human rights advocacy. Through local partnerships and community-driven solutions, WAGE remains dedicated to improving the lives of women and children in rural and underserved areas.
